POSITION SUMMARY:
The Program Manager – Public Health Equity is responsible for working with Public Health Equity team in collaboration with fellow team members of ULMS, board members, and community partners, fostering alignment across strategic initiatives and organizational functions. This role will manage day to day operations of Public Health Equity programs and resolve all issues with feasible solutions. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- High school diploma or GED; Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health or related field preferred
- 2+ years direct service program management experience; For internal applicants, demonstrated skill and ability to quickly learn core competencies may be taken into consideration.
- Direct professional or lived experience working in diverse, underserved communities.
- Knowledge of the program development, program implementation, and program evaluation
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including proven ability to interact with a wide variety of audiences.
- Ability to write grants for programming and department needs.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Demonstrates cultural competency.
- Understanding of public health equity
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Willingness and ability to maintain a flexible work schedule, when necessary, consistent with the demands and needs of the program, deliverables, executive team, volunteers, community leaders, and related special events.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Advanced knowledge of client-centered approaches and tactics
- Ability to develop and maintain public health programs.
- Broad knowledge of social determinants of health that affect Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.
- Knowledge and understanding of systemic racism and the history of the Black community in Seattle, King County and/or Washington State
ULMS Total Compensation
